Located at the edge of a large park, at the end of Vitosha Boulevard and its wide alley with water fountains, this massive building of neo-modern or neo-socialist style (depending on the style), is not a hymn to elegance, but is nevertheless an important step in the visit of the city. Built in 1981 as a tribute to the 1,300 years of Bulgaria, it is a cultural and congress center with concert and conference halls, exhibition galleries, a restaurant and some stores.
