This hostel is close to the center of town, yet surrounded by greenery and calm. Its charm lies in its setting of lawns and fruit trees. The best deal is to sleep in a heavy safari tent, on cots with a comfortable mattress, at a low price, with shared showers (hot water). Other hard-standing options: dormitories with 4 to 8 beds (mixed) or double rooms with private bathrooms. Acceptable cleanliness, restaurant under a makuti shelter, chill-out areas under the trees. Great welcome from Simba and good breakfast. Wifi.

I Never felt so welcomed in a hostel! The staff was incredibly helpful and kind and made sure we had everything we needed. The showers were warm and the breakfast delicious! Thanks to Ibrahim wo can help you organize every type of trip for a very fair price, from climbing Meru to Serengeti Safari. I couldn’t recommend this place more, especially on a budget!

We booked 6 nights but really stayed just 3 as we went for safari and needed somewhere to leave rest of our stuff.
Staff were very friendly. We had breakfast included which was nice. Every day fresh fruit a and eggs.
Garden is gorgeous and many egg chairs to rest in or sofas under the roof.
Rooms are not the nicest but clean and met our requirements.
Over all wasn't too bad

My partner and I unfortunately booked a room here for 3 nights. Our room was ok until night time came. We couldn't sleep due to the fact that we saw and heard rats crawling around on the floor, roof and walls.
We woke up to rat feces all over the floor in the bedroom and toilet. There were feces on our bags, shoes and clothes...
The manager or boss or whatever he calls himself were extremely rude. We of course wanted our money back to find another place to stay. He had us waiting for two hours and tried to bargain our refund with us - which is absolutely ridiculous. He wanted more for the room than what was stated on Hostelworld.
He ended up threatening us to go to the police if we didn't accept his offer. As we do not want to deal with the Tanzanian police we had to accept the offer.
Please do not book a room here.
