It's a single day of cultural celebration, marked by highlights symbolizing the culture of the Swahili archipelago: traditional Ngoma dances, travelling shows, taraab music performances, art and photography exhibitions, local arts and crafts in all their guises. It attracts numerous participants from neighboring countries such as Mozambique, Kenya and the Comoros, as well as from Germany, China and India. The festival has become very popular.
