Building housing a modest collection of Zanzibari artifacts including stuffed animals, old books, etc.
This white building topped by a huge dome and four small domes was built in 1920 in a style mixing English and Oriental influences (moucharabiehs). Its construction was decided by King George V in honour of the inhabitants of the island who died for the United Kingdom in 1914-1918, but also to commemorate peace, hence its white symbolism. Modest collection of Zanzibarite objects: stuffed animals, old books, etc., in a dusty atmosphere.
