Second time travelling to Egypt with this company. This time I took my wider family along.
The service remains top notch esp on the latest boat they have built. A lot of us looked at the other boats during our 4 days on board and decided that this was the best boat on the Nile.
We also stayed in some hotels to cover the areas where the boat does not sail. The guides took us to some places not on the tourist trail which resulted in some great experiences esp at Saqqara with the Tomb of Ti being well worth the visit and the strange place of the serapeum with it's huge sarcophagi

This was a great trip. The ship/boat was beautiful. Plenty of room, comfortable beds, relaxing atmosphere. Great, really great staff. It was a great way to see Egypt. A lot of information provided at all the sites. Thanks Samir and staff.

From the outset, as we were exploring options for a Nile River cruise, Dahabiya Nile Sailing (DNS) was by far the most responsive and helpful - in particular Dina. We ultimately decided to book our cruise with DNS and absolutely made the right decision. Everything about our cruise was top notch! The Dahabiya boat itself was outstanding, the crew was professional, courteous, helpful and friendly, the food was excellent and our guide Mahmoud was the best! Our fellow passengers (there were only 6 others on our cruise) made the experience even more special. The trip itinerary was very well designed to be interesting, educational, cultural, enjoyable and relaxing, with an appropriate amount of free time. Our room comfortably housed 3 adults. Based upon our experience, the other excellent reviews for DNS that I read before booking our trip (and since returning home) are not overstated and are accurate. We believe DNS deserves the highest rating and recommendation!

Side note - Dina facilitated us adding a tour of Aswan before the start of our Dahabiya cruise, and adding a tour of Luxor after our cruise (I think this was through Real Egypt). The whole package worked smoothly, was executed without a hitch, and included all necessary transportation to and from lodging, sites and to the Luxor Airport. No worries and no stress. The customer service provided was fantastic!

Unforgettable experience. Dahabiya sailing is incredibly special, as you get to know your fellow passengers as well as the boat crew, creating an intimate journey and a bunch of nice memories. The trip is a perfect combination of relaxing moments and activities like guided visits to temples, local tours at fishing villages, or just bathing time in the Nile. The crew in Safiya Dahabiya has been wonderful, assisting us and making our experience even better. Also guiding has been great by Shaima in the various cultural visits to temples and other sites. Even tours arranged outside the sailing days have been wonderful. Special mention to Rihem and Beshoy, the guide and driver than accompanied us in the West Bank day tour in Luxor. They made that cultural day a unique experience. All in all, a magnificent trip with a serious company, which on top of everything is committed to improving the life of locals as well as preserving the environment and traditions.

Dahabiya Nile Sailing is an absolute must experience for your trip to Egypt! The traditional sail boat, with modern upgrades by Samir, is gorgeous & serene. The views from the boat are amazing, you get to experience sailing along the Nile on what seems like a 5-star hotel. The staff on board is extremely helpful, friendly & accommodating. The chef did a tremendous job, and all the food was delicious. Perfect experience for a trip to Egypt

The Staff at Dahabiya Nile Sailing couldn’t have been better. We only booked and payed for our sail 90 minutes before take off and they were super good about it. I would book another sail with them again.

The boat itself was wonderful! The crew was over the top. They had a great four day plan including music, singing and dancing. So fun!! Food was also good and accommodated my fish and veggie diet.

There may have been a bit more information about activities, however you could pick and choose what you wanted to participate in. We learned an incredible amount of information from our tour guide Honny. Yes that was his real name. He was super great !

I highly recommend this Four night Nile Sailing Cruise on Dahabiya Nile Sailing.

We had a great experience with Dahabiya Nile Sailing and the sister company Real Egypt.

The Dahabiya Safiya is spacious, luxurious, large cabins all with large windows and individual bathrooms.

14 guests were taken care of very well by 9 crew, all of them very friendly and attentive. Excellent food on board.

We had a good mix of history, archaeology, local culture (farmers & fishermen) and time for relaxation on board the Dahabiya.

Drivers and Tour guides in Cairo (Mouri, Youssef, Muhammad) as well as in Luxor and on the Dahabiya (Hani) have been great. All very knowledgable, friendly and helpful.

Tour preparation and planning with Real Egypt folk (especially Dani) has been diligent and very flexible to accomodate our preferences.

Overall a great experience!

If you are looking for a truly authentic immersive first class experience this is the trip for you. The Dahabiya is gorgeous. Clean spacious rooms with unlimited hot water. Samir was the perfect tour guide. So knowledgeable and articulate about Egyptian history and culture. The staff pampers you. You want for nothing. The tours upon docking the boat include temple tours, fishing with local villagers, camel market and some more. Five stars doesn’t even an accurately rate this. It is 10 ⭐️ plus!

Fellow travellers! If you do only one thing in Egypt and you do like experiencing something a bit more of the beaten track and magical. Then this should be it.

Floating on the “Safiya” (The Pure One) over the impressive Nile, passing tiny villages, the ancient world at your feet and the desert just behind it while travelling comfortably and being tended genuinely warm and professional seemed like we were part of a 1001 Nights fairytale.

We are not giving away more…

A big thank you to Mahmoud our very knowledgeable and fun to be with guide and the lovely dahabiya crew Ibrahim, Emad, Ammar and the other important eight behind the scenes as well as the solid agency.
The moment you expand and start cruising from Cairo to Luxor (visiting Dendara, Abydos, and more) we are on it again, if not a revisit with friends and family before that :-)

PS: for some anticipatory pleasure, you might enjoy a nice song we picked upon our Egypt trip “Tamalley Maak” (Amr Diab).

This cruise was the undisputed highlight of our Kiwi foursome’s 18 days in Egypt.

The Nile is great for cruising; a Dahabiya is the way to do it; and this particular Dahabiya was a real find. Special thanks to all the onboard team, including tour guide Moemen, boat manager Ibrahim, and Emad and Ammar handing housekeeping/guest liaison. All were charming, good company, and couldn’t have been more helpful.

A Dahabiya travels more slowly and gives more time on the river than the bigger boats. Being smaller, Dahabiyas get into places the big boats can’t. Dahabiyas are also heaps more attractive than the container-like, diesel fume-spewing big boats that seemed to travel in big packs

ACCOMMODATION Our cabin was roomy with two single beds with a table between and good walk space all round. Facilities included a lovely big picture window with a window seat, an armchair, a hanging wardrobe plus drawers for clothes, a 3/4 length mirror and a safe. Beds were clean and comfortable if firm. There was both a fan and a modern a/c unit but as it was winter, neither was operating.

There were power sockets beside each bed, and Wi-Fi on board, but I have to say the connection really only worked on the upper deck, not so well in the cabins.

The separate en-suite bathroom featured a shower with plentiful hot water and good pressure, so much so that we had to be careful to avoid spraying water all over the floor. Our room was serviced daily and towels replaced on request. They even offered laundry service which I used for a few pairs of socks.

Our boat had a near-full complement of 19 passengers in 10 cabins, but there was still plenty of space on the top deck. There was always somewhere shaded to sit quietly on your own and watch the riverbank glide by.

The children, and some adults, enjoyed the little jacuzzi our particular vessel featured.

Everything was clan and well kept, an the staff couldn’t have been more obliging.

FOOD. Meals were served at a small buffet and eaten at a communal table. A small soup was served first, then we chose from chicken and beef dishes, at least two salads, rice or pasta plus hot vegetable dishes followed by a dessert. Good quality, mostly Egyptian style. Breakfast came with your choice of eggs.

Mealtimes were officially 7am, 1pm and 7pm although there were variations (pre-announced) to suit the itinerary. There was a 5pm afternoon tea served with cakes and pastries, but grazers may want to bring some onboard snacks.

Hot and cold drinks (Cola, Sprite and juices) were available 24/7.

Alcohol wasn’t offered on board, but you were quite welcome to bring your own. The crew would label your bottles with your room number and chill them in the fridge on the top deck. If they saw you having a sundowner, they’d often arrive with a bowl of salted nuts. Best to board with whatever booze you need because it proved difficult to top up en route.

ITINERARY. The trip was really well planned, balancing stops at the ‘serious’ archaeological sites with more informal local visits. These let us peek into the homes of Egyptian villagers and chat with them to get a feel for their lives. Well worthwhile.

Moemen, our tour guide, proved to be a genuine expert on Egyptian history and life, and also a great communicator, providing excellent commentary without overwhelming us. He also managed all ticket purchases and tips, including for the crew, with one wrap-up payment (preferably in USD) at the end of the trip.

We were kept quite busy with scheduled visits, but there were also decent intervals of just cruising, plus occasional stops for swimming and kayaking for those so inclined. I did venture into the water but didn’t want to risk getting my head under. The water was cold but bearable and quite sandy underfoot.

When the wind was favourable, and time permitted, we dropped the cable to the tow boat that accompanied us to unfurl the traditional sail. We enjoyed watching the crewman climb the mast to take the sail in again.

Highly recommend this particular way of exploring the Nile.

Five stars is not enough to classify the tour that we made last week. It was an outstanding experience at all levels. The plan of the tour was perfect, the dahabiya new, the food was great and the team (crew and guide) highly professional.

This has been a trip of a lifetime for me and my family. We were a group of 9 people booked on a trip from Aswan to Luxor and we were the only group on the boat. Egypt is a wonderful country in all its magnificence, but the dahabiya and hospitality on board made the trip so much more. From the moment we stepped on board, the staff pampered and cared for us with professionalism, kindness, and meticulous attention to details. The rooms were spacious, with comfortable beds, good bathrooms and showers, and a view of the Nile. Each meal featured different delicious dishes and good variety. Having been living in Egypt, some of the Egyptian dishes were the best I have ever had. The excursions were well-organized and good introduction to Egyptian cultures, and very doable for healthy adults in their 50s and 60s. My aunt possibly had the best birthday she’s ever had, with the entire crew presenting her with a cake and sang her happy birthday. Traveling was such a breeze with everything arranged for by the company. The manager on board, Ibrahim, checked in regularly and the staff was exceptionally quick in taking care of any needs and feedback, no matter how minor. I highly highly recommend going with Dahabiya Nile Sailing if you are considering a Nile cruise, this is a credible company that knows exactly what it is doing and does it extremely well.

Just finished an absolutely fantastic trip in Egypt. Through a friend in Seattle, I stumbled upon Dahabiya Nile sailing. When I showed my wife the website, she helped sway me away from the large Nile cruise ships. That was the best decision we made!

We all learned a lot about Egypt's (and the world's) history, through the temples and museums we visited. The guides even slowed it down a bit, when needed, to assure my daughter gained a lot from the sites we visited. Visiting local villages was a highlight, as the people were all very nice and friendly. My daughter even made a good friend with another little girl from one our of visits. If you have the time, I recommend the Luxor to Aswan 4 night trip.

All in all a great trip. We really appreciate the sustainability measures that Real Egypt embraces. We felt perfectly safe at all times in Egypt; more so than many other cities in the world.

So this is my best experience in egypt in tourism and hospitality sector, i loved the whole trip, starting from the organizing and the trips details it was sent very clearly, pickup from hotel to dahabiya was very smooth, the dahabiya's design and rooms are so comfortable so luxurious, we were on dahabiya called safiya the newest one, rooms had window seat directly on nile and i just loved it ! The food was amazing, the trips went very smooth, best part that the boat can dock in unique locations hidden gems along nile river banks, we went kayaking, swimming and also the jacuzzi on the deck was so good, the whole crew were so helpful and friendly, i really want to thank every one starting from our tour guide and the whole crew. I also loved how they are aware of the environment and the local community as they put in mind the SD goals at their operational system

I am proud that in egypt we have that great level of hospitality and tourism service.

We had the absolute time of our lives getting to sail on the Dahabiya Safiya! It is a life changing experience getting to dive deep into Egyptian culture, not just of the ancient world but also of the present day! We got our chance to experience multiple farmer's homes and villages who live along the Nile and try our hand bartering at a market!

The amazing crew members were super friendly, great dancers, and fun to be around at anytime!

The ship itself was clean and modern, a piece of luxury in the middle of the river!

Cannot recommend this company enough, if you are going to sail on the Nile use them for the best time possible!

A Perfect Blend of Culture, Hospitality, and Luxury

I am writing to express my utmost gratitude and satisfaction for the unforgettable experience my wife and I had during our recent sailing trip on the Dahabiya Nile Sailing Safya. Our journey from Esna to Aswan was nothing short of extraordinary, and I am eager to share our wonderful experience with you and potential future travelers.

From the moment we stepped aboard the boat, we were captivated by its brand new and stylishly minimalistic design. The attention to detail and immaculate presentation created an atmosphere of elegance and tranquility. The boat itself was a testament to modern comfort and luxury, while still embracing the timeless charm of the Nile River.

The highlight of our journey was undoubtedly the rich cultural experience we had. Cruising along the Nile River, we were immersed in the captivating history and beauty of Egypt. The knowledgeable guide provided fascinating insights into the ancient sites and monuments we encountered along the way, making each excursion a truly educational and awe-inspiring adventure. We felt truly privileged to witness the wonders of Egypt from such a unique vantage point.

One aspect that truly stood out was the impeccable service and hospitality extended to us by the entire crew. The staff members were not only professional and attentive but also genuinely warm and friendly. Their dedication to ensuring our comfort and satisfaction was evident in every interaction. They went above and beyond to cater to our needs, creating a warm and welcoming environment throughout our journey.

The culinary experience on board was exceptional. The food surpassed our expectations in terms of variety, quality, and presentation. Each meal was a delightful blend of traditional Egyptian dishes and international cuisine, expertly prepared and served with flair. The dining experience alone was worth the journey, and we eagerly anticipated each mealtime as an opportunity to indulge in delectable flavors.

The carefully curated program offered a perfect balance of guided tours, leisurely cruising, and time for relaxation. We appreciated the thoughtfulness behind the itinerary, which allowed us to explore the historic landmarks while also providing ample opportunities to unwind and take in the breathtaking scenery. The pace of the journey was ideal, ensuring that we never felt rushed and could savor every moment of our adventure.
