This mosque is a small-scale replica of Sultan Hassan's madrassa, with a central courtyard featuring 4 Gothic-arched iwans.
This Mamluk mosque, built in the 14th century, is a small replica of the madrasa of Sultan Hassan, remarkable for its off-centre entrance and its central courtyard with four iwans with Gothic arches. There is no longer a fountain for ablutions, but the tomb of Illgay el-Youssoufi in a tower topped by a dome. It is at the beginning of the street of the souk el-Saleh (arms market) that this beautifully made mosque is located, not far from a building of Mameluk period.
