Headquarters of the Arab League, built by architect Mahmoud Ryiad in a very simple, slender style.

The headquarters of the Arab League was built from 1955 to 1960 by the architect Mahmoud Ryiad in a very simple and slender style. The Arab League was established in 1945 and includes all Arab States; this regional organization has observer status at the United Nations and 22 States are members. Its mission is also to develop cooperation in various fields between the member countries, coordinate political action and defend the interests of the Arab countries. Conflicts in the Middle East are at the heart of its concerns.
