SAKAKINI PALACE
A strange little palace in the shape of a star, featuring a variety of architectural styles, with a predominance of rococo.
Funny little palace built in 1897 by Habib Sakakini, and which is located on the square of the same name, in the small district of Fagalla, an extension of the city centre. This small palace is more or less star-shaped, and is extremely busy. It was built by Italian architects, who gave it different architectural styles with a Rococo predominance. Now undergoing restoration, it is the first monument to have received a lift in Cairo. The government plans to use it for cultural activities.
