BEIT EL-Suhaymi
Superb restored house with a wide range of reception rooms, including a second floor reserved for women at the time.
This superb house, built in successive periods between 1648 and 1796 by Ahmed el-Suhaymi and restored in 2003, offers visitors a large series of reception rooms. Entered via a small alleyway, the first rooms are the men's reception room, the salamlek, and the women's reception room, the haremlek. On the second floor, reserved for women at the time, you'll find beautiful porcelain and the ancestors of wooden stilettos! There's also a summer terrace (maqead) opening onto the south patio.
