SABIL MANASTERLY
Monument now transformed into a cultural music center before being closed for renovation.
Built in 1851 by Mohammed Fouad Pasha el-Manasterly, at the same time that he had his palace, mosque and mausoleum built on the island of Roda, next to the Nilometer. Like all sabils, this monument was a charity ordered by the powerful pasha to supply the poorest with water, it was directly connected to the Nile and operated by an ingenious cistern system.
