MOKHTAR MUSEUM
Museum featuring major works by Mahmoud Mokhtar and a stunning nude exhibition with a total of 87 works.
Mahmoud Mokhtar, who died in 1934, is one of the greatest Egyptian sculptors of the 20th century and is considered the father of modern Egyptian sculpture. He is the author of the immense statue of Saad Zaghloul, in front of the Qasr el-Nil bridge. The museum, built by Ramses Wissa Wassef (that of the Haranya tapestries), presents the major works of this artist, who was very inspired by the Egyptian reality of his time. There are also nudes of great beauty - not to say sensual - in all, the exhibition reveals 87 works.
