CARRIAGE MUSEUM
The oldest museum of its kind in the world, featuring a unique collection of different sizes and types of royal carriages.
The museum houses a unique collection of different sizes and types of royal carriages. One of the most remarkable items is the large Alay carriage, a gift from Emperor Napoleon III and his wife Empress Eugenie to Khedive Ismail on the occasion of the inauguration of the Suez Canal in 1869. You'll also see horse-riding equipment, uniforms worn by employees of the Carriage Service, and oil paintings from the same period. It's the oldest museum of its kind in the world! A must for all enthusiasts.
