POSTAL MUSEUM
Small museum on the 2nd floor of the central post office, featuring a collection of stamps, photos and bric-a-brac.
Inaugurated in 1940, this small museum is located on the second floor of the central post office. It exhibits a collection of stamps issued by Egypt of travellers' letters but also photos and documents that illustrate the means of sending messages in Egypt throughout the centuries. Divided into ten distinct areas, the visit relates different periods by means of a bric-a-brac of objects of all kinds: old letter boxes, stamps, postmen's uniforms or the office of the first director of the Egyptian post office who was... Italian!
