AL-AZHAR PARK
A park between el-Azhar, the City of the Dead and the Cairo Citadel, offering a unique view of the historic Islamic city.
Inaugurated in 2005, this park is located between el-Azhar, the Ayyubid wall, the city of the dead and the citadel of Cairo. It offers a unique view of the historic and Islamic city. The ancient city walls dating from the 12th century offer a remarkable panorama of Cairo, as well as a circuit in the heart of the Islamic quarter. You enter via the park at the Bab al-Mahruq Gate for a half-day stroll. It is really worth the detour, the route is signposted, you will find a map on the spot in the park.
