This original domed church is a retreat surrounded by small round-roofed houses lined with palm trees.
A retreat surrounded by round-roofed white houses lined with palm trees. The church, in the shape of a dome on the ground, is quite original. Inside, multicolored carpets but no chairs. The local farmers and monks aim for self-sufficiency, feeding themselves mainly with organic produce from their farm. They also sell their produce to visitors and offer lodging. You'll be expected to have lunch and breakfast in the common room at communal times. It's well worth the effort.
