L'Idylle Beach offers two types of rooms with ocean view and village view. A "comfort and charm" address, clean, with quality bedding and careful decoration. The two rooms facing the street are well soundproofed. One room has a balcony to enjoy the village life. The owners are very attentive and have thought of everything. The two other rooms overlooking the lagoon can accommodate three people. The view is breathtaking. A good address.

Place to avoid! We reserved a room two months in advance, paid 50% reservation fee for three nights only to see ourselves ushered to a room facing the construction site! We reserved room “Mer” which is supposed to be the best in this hotel. We were on a romantic getaway and did not mind paying a bit more for a superior room. We received a welcome email three days in advance. However, when we came to check in, the staff took us to another room. I noticed the change and requested the explanation. We were told that another couple took our room and we would be able to move there after one night. In what universe do you give a reserved and prepaid room to another customer just because they want to?!?! When we disagreed with that option as the view of the Ocean room was horrific, the staff came to tell us that they negotiated with other guests and we need to wait three hours for other clients to vacate the room, after which they would prepare it for us. While we appreciated their willingness to solve the situation, we did not want to waste a good portion of the day waiting around while our trust in the establishment had been broken. We could not imagine spending three days there knowing we were disrespected and that the staff made a decision to disregard our reservation without informing us in advance and/or informing us about the situation when we came in. We travel a lot and this simply cannot happen in a respectable establishment. We stayed in three other hotels in Sainte Marie and we were extraordinarily welcome everywhere we went - except Idylle Beach. For us it is a Nightmare beach! A real disappointment for us after choosing this hotel reading numerous reviews on the internet. A definite no go - I would recommend going elsewhere if you want a relaxing place to stay in Sainte Marie! There are multiple hotels of better quality (and cheaper!) around the island! This one is in the middle of the town so instead of the sea, you will only hear tuk-tuk buzzing around anyway!
Edit after a communication with the owner: He never apologised for the mistake and accused us of lies. Clearly, management skills are to be desired. Our request for a refund was refused despite them neglecting their responsibilities towards us. We were never offered to fill anything at our arrival and had no other reservations made at the time. The hotel who welcomed us could easily confirm at what time we started inquiring about availability. We stand by every word in our account and denounce the abusive language the owner is using below.

I am wondering how can you actually give feedback on a hotel where you only spent 1 hour at the front desk????
Anyway, The facts you describe here are definitely not correct.
The manager did not hide anything from you, but explained to you directly in the room that you have the option to spend one night in the very nice room Ocean or just change to the sea room after 3 hours at the latest.
I agree with you that we are responsible for the delay (even if it was actually the fault of the other guest who went on an excursion before his scheduled room change).
That is why you were entitled to a price reduction for that day, but definitely not a cancellation of the entire stay free of charge.
For your false statements you even provide the proof yourself:
You accuse us of fraud, although we have adhered exactly to our cancellation conditions, which you accepted with your reservation.
You accuse us of fraud, although we have adhered exactly to the international guidelines of travel law, which state that in the case of a delayed room occupancy for which we are responsible, only a price reduction is permitted, but in no case the cancellation of the entire trip.
These facts clearly prove that we behaved absolutely correctly in this regard.
To accuse us of fraud, on the other hand, is an infamous slander and demonstrably factually inaccurate.
You do not write a recession but only untenable accusations and personal insults to my staff.
Fortunately, I have never experienced this before!

Excellent location on the sea side and near the town center.
Beautiful pool and especially a very good restaurant (recommended).
The rooms are very comfortable and large.
This being said, we also forgot our home keys in our room (stupid). The staff sent it over to our hotel in Tana in time for a flight to Brussels.

Bien sur que j'étais chez vous! Dans la chambre du haut en face de la route. La ou il y a un gros pot de fleurs qui n'a pas de fleurs mais qui est rempli de sable. Croyez moi et je suis gentil de pas mettre de commentaire! A part corina le reste qui nous a bien accueilli le reste de l'équipe à besoin de formation

Merci pour l'appréciation de notre aimable manager. Personnellement, je suis très satisfait de notre personnel, ce qui a été confirmé jusqu'à présent par plus de 90 % de clients satisfaits.

Wir hatten ein sehr schönes Zimmer mit Balkon, Meerblick, bequemes Kingsize Bett, Klimaanlage und einem tollen Bad mit bodenebener Dusche.
Das Hotel verfügt über einen Pool an der zum Meer geneigten Seite. Es gibt auch einen tollen Massageraum in dem man sich für wenig Geld entspannend massieren lassen kann.
Herausragend ist das Restaurant mit seinem qualifizierten Küchenpersonal.
Den Spieß mit frischen Kalamares kann ich sehr empfehlen. Die Auswahl an Weinen ist auch sehr gut. Nicht unerwähnt möchte ich den leckeren Rum Arrangé lassen.
Rundum ein gelungener Urlaub. Gerne kommen wir wieder....
