SAINT-FRANÇOIS MONASTERY
Church with Romanesque nave and monastery, on the heights of the historic city of Pula, with a small garden attached.
The Church and Monastery of St. Francis (Uspon Svetog Franje Asiškog) form a homogeneous medieval ensemble, built in the 14th century on the heights of the historic city, at the foot of the ramparts of the Venetian citadel of Pula. The church was probably built on the site of an earlier place of worship, dating back to the first Christians. With its Romanesque nave and Gothic decorations, it forms a harmonious whole, enhanced by a small, peaceful garden. Ask at the tourist office for details of how to get there.
