FORT AND NECROPOLIS SITE
Ruined fortifications on top of a hill in Veli Brijuni housing a necropolis surrounded by three concentric walls.
To the north of the Baie de Verige, ruined fortifications remain at the top of a hill, at the highest and most strategic point for the defence of the island. On the ground, stones have been found that were used as projectiles. These three concentric surrounding walls, which date from the Bronze Age, surround a site that also served as a necropolis. The bodies, deposited in a pit, were burned there under a stone mound near the surrounding walls.
