SAINTE-EUPHÉMIE CHURCH
Church with a 60 m high bell tower in Rovinj with a beautiful altar, paintings and a sarcophagus of the holy martyr.
The town's emblem, which gives Rovinj such a picturesque silhouette, dates back to the 18th century Italian Baroque period. It was designed by the architect Giovanni Dozzi. The 60-metre-high bell tower is modelled on a Venetian campanile. At the top is a sculpture of Saint Euphemia, Rovinj's patron saint. She holds a palm and a wheel. Inside the building, a beautiful marble altar, paintings by Giovanni Contarini, a pupil of Titian, and the sarcophagus of the martyred saint.
