This historical and fine arts museum, housed in a baroque palace, holds several interesting collections of paintings. In particular, the works of the Austrian Alexander Kirchher, born in Trieste in 1867, official painter of the Austro-Hungarian navy with a striking realistic style, those of the Croatian landscape painter Vilko Šeferov, the old masters of the Italian schools (from the Renaissance to the 19th century). The exhibition is completed by contemporary art, archaeology and regional ethnography.
