A big sensation in 2021 when the restaurant and café lounge on the top floors of the new Hilton hotel complex opens. First, the view, one of the most splendid in Rijeka, embraces the entire harbor and the Kvarner Gulf. Then the young chef, Deni Srdoč, in his thirties, who combines traditional elements with modernity, while remaining under the classic Italian-French influence. He has already acquired a Michelin star. Several a la carte menus. Book well in advance to savor the dining experience close to the bay windows.

The waiter spills hot tea on you, doesn’t apologise or say anything and just leaves. Soooo sad…

Locally sourced and beautifully assembled dishes. Incredible flavors and textures. We enjoyed the short tasting menu with wine pairings. They are able to accommodate dietary requirements.

Ovaj restoran, nažalost, nije ispunio očekivanja i može se opisati kao razočaravajuće iskustvo. Unatoč prekrasnom ambijentu i izvrsnom somelieru, koji je bio jedini svijetla točka posjete, ostale aspekte ne bih ocijenila na razini koja bi opravdala Michelin zvjezdicu.
Hrana, iako kreativna, nije uspjela impresionirati svojim okusima. (Subjektivno) gledano, okusi nisu bili iznimni, čak smo se na nekoliko sljedova zapitali je li moguće da nedostaje bilo kakav karakterističan okus. Negodovali smo čak i osoblju direktno zbog nedostatka dubine i autentičnosti okusa, što je izuzetno važno u restoranskim iskustvima ovog ranga.
Posebno razočaranje predstavljala je voditeljica koja je predstavljala hranu. Na pitanje o alergijama, nije znala što je palamida, što je nešto što se očekuje od osobe koja radi u ugostiteljskom sektoru, posebno u restoranu koji pretendira na visoke standarde.
Sve u svemu, iako su neki elementi poput ambijenta i someliera bili više nego pohvalni, ukupan dojam ovog restorana nije bio na razini Michelin standarda. Kreativnost hrane nije bila niti blizu popraćena okusima, a manjak osnovnog znanja o hrani od strane osoblja dodatno je umanjio ukupni dojam.

Service, still in Michelin context, got off to a slow start as our amuse-bouche took 30 mins to arrive, however remainder of the evening took place with a very attentive waiter crew.
It’s a must to try & explore the Croatian wines from the extensive wine list.
All in all, a wonderful experience (rating overall would have been 5 if not the Michelin expectations in mind). Will definitely come back.
