Zlarin, the most populous island in the Šibenik archipelago, has preserved the centuries-old tradition of red coral cultivation. Inaugurated in June 2023, this eco-museum tells the whole story of this precious material. The first traces of "coral hunters" date back to the 15thcentury . With the contribution of archaeology, ethnology, photography, multimedia and other documents, we discover the history of harvesting, extraction methods, the manufacture and trade of ornaments and jewelry, as well as the symbolism of coral in religion.
