DOMINICAN CONVENT OF THE HOLY CROSS
Gothic architectural complex in Trogir with a library considered a high place of education.
Founded in 1265, the convent was consecrated in the 14th century by Albanian friars. The architectural ensemble is in the Radiant Gothic style, with a Romanesque campanile, crypt, cloister, fountain and park... With its library, the convent was a major center of learning, and was home to Augustin Kažotić (1260-1323), one of the first Croatian theologians. It was one of four Dominican convents bombed during the 1991 war. Rebuilt, it still houses a community.
