GALERIJA EMANUEL VIDOVIČ
Gallery with a work of a landscape artist evoking the impressive bohemian city of Split.
A lesser-known artistic figure than Meštrovič in Split, Emanuel Vidovič (1870-1953) is a native of the maritime capital. His work evokes the impressionist bohemia of his city at the beginning of the 20th century. The landscape painter left the Dalmatian shores to cross the Adriatic and dock in Venice. But he would return to the region to settle in Trogir. The sea obsesses his sad, lagoon-like atmospheres. This superb gallery preserves the painter's dark side. A film on the artist's pictorial itinerary is not to be missed.
