Near Splitska are ancient Roman quarries from which the stone used to build Diocletian's palace in Split was collected. Diocletian's Palace is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The "Hercules" theme trail takes you to the quarry in the center of Splitska. We warmly recommend a visit. This trail is marked with standard hiking signs and includes interpretive panels along the way. At the Rasohe quarry, you can relax, enjoy the peace and tranquility of nature, read stories of the past and take a look at the Hercules reliefs carved in stone.

The cultural walk "A day with Rendić" will take you through the oldest and most beautiful parts of the historic part of Supetar, to the places where Ivan Rendić (1849-1932), Supetar-born master of Croatian sculpture, left his mark. Start your walk on Supetar's waterfront, in front of the monument built in memory of our great man. Then continue your walk along the street of the sculptor Rendić, Vrdolca Park, Gustirne, Ignjat Job Street, the "Ivan Rendić" gallery, the allegorical monument "Um", the Supetar waterfront, the town beach "Banj" and end it at the magnificent Supetar cemetery. Here, you can see Ivan Rendić's final resting place and several of his works.

The Dragon's Cave is located above the village of Murvica, on the southern slopes of Vidova gora. It is a monastic sanctuary dating back to the 9th century. Although it takes around 60 minutes of demanding climbing to reach it, believe us, it's well worth it! One of Supetar's finest cultural features is its cemetery, where you can find excellent works of art by masters of Croatian sculpture - Ivan Rendić, born in Supetar, and Toma Rosandić, the author of the Petrinović family mausoleum.

Although our island cuisine is rich in fresh fish, seafood, good wine from "plavac mali" grapes and extra-virgin olive oil, our history and specific island lifestyle have oriented our gastronomy towards lamb. Spit-roasted lamb (whole or in pieces), oven-cooked lamb under an ash-covered lid or baked lamb are just some of the ways we eat and enjoy our lamb. We strongly recommend vitalac, an original island dish and a gastronomic gem on the Croatian national list of intangible cultural heritage. The Hrapoćuša cake, a delicious cake from the village of Dol also on this same list, is prepared according to an ancient, jealously guarded traditional recipe. A must-taste during your stay on the island. We also recommend tasting Brač sheep's milk cheese, škuta (cream cheese), extra virgin olive oil, red wine, Brač almond cake, hroštule, rožata, škuta pancakes, homemade liqueurs and herbal grappas.
