Housed in a Gothic palace, this gourmet restaurant boasts a lovely patio and has enjoyed an excellent reputation for decades.
Located in the Jakša family palace (late 15th century), this gourmet restaurant has enjoyed a remarkable patio and an excellent reputation for decades. We sit under the Gothic arches, close to the pillars. Sculptures by Darko Šoša accompany the meal. Traditional dishes are carefully revisited. Fresh fish and seafood, island vegetables and herbs, Dalmatian meats and wines - choose from the à la carte menu, tasty pasticada lamb in sauce, fresh homemade pasta, macaroni with Istrian truffles, of course!

Our cuisine
Nowadays, gastronomy has become an important part of the lifestyle. Following the new trends in world cuisine while maintaining the authenticity of local cuisine, the restaurant's offer is based on meals prepared from local products: fish and seafood caught in the local sea and vegetables grown on the island. In this way, trade on the island becomes an advantage instead of a disadvantage. By combining its history and approach to cuisine, Giaxa Restaurant becomes a place where the scent of Hvar's lavender and rosemary meets the Serenissima.
Our wine cellar
Our wine list has more than a hundred different labels of Croatian and European wines, among which the most important are native Dalmatian grapes such as pošip, bogdanuša, grk, plavac mali, crljenak, babić. Many of them are served by the glass. Our staff will be happy to help you choose which wine to pair with your dishes.

Bonne adresse.
To our question if the lobster was right, the answer was yes and taking advantage of our young age (24 years) and the lack of knowledge of the language, among the laughter of the waiters we get a huge plate in which there are only lobsters and a little pasta .
Unfortunately due to the embarrassment we didn't know what to reply but I advise you to be very specific with the waiters because our bill was well over €14.
Be careful they rip you off!
