Private garden where orange and black triangular butterflies reproduce from June to September.
7 km west of Parikiá. The Valley of the Butterflies or Petaloudes is in fact a private garden crossed by small paths and with rich and abundant vegetation where orange and black triangular butterflies come to reproduce by hundreds from June to September. Needing shade, they sleep during the day and fly only at night. It is therefore difficult to see them... They are called Panaxia quadripunctaria (poda), they settle in groups on the foliage of trees and cover the vegetation. A nice bucolic stop with a snack on the spot.
