This agency, run by Semeli, a charming French-speaking Greek woman, offers themed hikes around the island of Amorgos. Her three-and-a-half-hour food tour takes in vineyards, fig trees, an olive press and, of course, ends with a traditional meal. But you can also opt for a visit to the charming villages of Aegiali, the Olive Route, a donkey ride, an introduction to local dances, cooking, ceramics or Greek language classes..

We had a wonderful afternoon learning how to cook moussaka and tzatziki with mama Irini and with a great welcome/service from her daughter, Poppy. Although on the way I'd said to my partner that I hoped we wouldn't be making moussaka (under the guise of "anyone can make a lasagne"), I was so pleased that we did...we learned SO many fantastic tips, and it was the tastiest moussaka OR lasagne I've probably ever eaten. Irini is a great teacher with firm preferences and explains why she does things a certain way. We also learnt that the dishes that they make in each class can vary depending on personal preferences (e.g. vegetarian) and that they also offer baking classes.
One small note: we were told the meeting point was the carpark in Tholaria (but not told the name of the cooking location), so thought we would be greeted there. When noone greeted us at the carpark we made contact with Semeli and were quickly redirected to the hotel, which was next door.
Thank you for a fabulous experience. We will definitely be making both dishes back home!
Memorable hike to Stavros. ????????
