CAPODISTRIAN MUSEUM
Museum in Gouvia, an address to know better the life of Ioannis Capodistrias.
This small museum traces the fascinating life of Ioannis Capodistrias (1776-1831), an aristocrat from Corfu who became the first governor of independent Greece. In 1827, he was appointed by the Greek Assembly as the first governor of unified Greece and entered the first in Nafplion to liberate the city. But in 1831, he was assassinated by a political rival in the same city of Nafplion. The visit of the museum is pleasant, educational and will only take you about thirty minutes to visit. As a bonus, a beautiful setting with a well-kept garden.
