NYMFES
An authentic village with impressive waterfalls and a women's monastery in Sidari.
Sidari's hinterland is full of surprises, including impressive waterfalls where, according to legend, nymphs used to bathe. Very close to the village, at Agious Doulous, you can also visit the Pantokrator Karamelas women's monastery. The monastery dates from the 18th century and the adjacent church of the "Metamorphosis of Sotiris" has a ceiling painted in the 19th century by a well-known Corfu artist: Dionysis Sgouros. The small village of Nymfes exudes authenticity, and you can sit down with the locals in the local tavern, O Prasinos.
