Located in a well-preserved Renaissance building, the "Maison à la grande botte" is a small four-star family hotel that combines charm, comfort and modernity despite its venerable age. The 12 rooms, almost all of which have been recently renovated, are very pleasant, as are their bathrooms with floors and walk-in showers. The extraordinary and very personalized welcome you will receive is the best thing about this hotel, which is out of all categories. The location is quiet but not too far away, behind the castle hill.

Beautiful ~500 yr-old home that has stayed in the family for centuries.
The team is great (plenty of English if you need it). Breakfast is delicious.
If you’re looking to be in the thick of all the action, this place is not for you though as it’s about 8 minute walk to get into things. Super quiet though if you’re after a great night’s sleep.
We stayed in the top-floor attic suite; amazing views!
1. Where to find it:
It's quieter here, not sooooo many people.
Very close to The Castle (very nice and not at all strenuous climb)
Directly opposite the German Embassy (which can be important if you've had too much of the delicious Pilsner and can then tell the security guard).
The house itself is magically overgrown ????????????????...
Always straight on to Karl's Bridge...not far at all.
The hotel's own driving service is very flexible and reliable ????????????????
2.The greeting:
So friendly, helpful and sweet ♥️ Thank you ????
You will immediately receive a map on which the hotspots ⛪️????⛪️ of the city are drawn and explained.
3.The Hotel :
Wonderfully romantic.
The house itself is probably 500 years old.
However, everything is in excellent condition. Art hangs everywhere ????????????
The breakfast room is equipped with special tables/chairs from earlier times. Very loving and with great attention to detail.
The staircase that leads to the rooms is made of stone and winding. Magical.
A bookcase full of Prague travel guides...
4. Breakfast:
Attentive people bring you freshly brewed coffee/tea or whatever else you want for breakfast.
There is oat milk ????.
Otherwise there is everything you need for breakfast ????.......it is particularly nice that eggs (whole/scrambled/fried) are freshly prepared.
Everything in peace without any hectic hustle and bustle...
anyway.......
5. The Service:
Everyone was exceptionally approachable, open, friendly and interested ????
6. Our room:
We were thrilled
This great antique furniture (of course a bed like that creaks sometimes, but somehow that's just how it is in Prague ????)...these little tables with the inlays ⚜️⚜️⚜️...everything in perfect condition!
Funnily enough, we had the most modern and beautiful shower that we were ever allowed to use in a hotel........
And everything was so clean and well maintained - it was a joy.
Even the shower gel and body lotion provided are fine and subtle.
Danger !
If you look out the window, you might get photographed because the house looks so beautiful from the outside.
So. It all sounds like I should be able to live there for free for at least a month ???? ...... but that's not the case and I only have a little time to share my impressions at the moment... I look for something negative.........????............
...ah yes... there were too many cars right in front of the entrance door, you had to squeeze in ????
Recommendation ????
