TECHNICAL MUSEUM (NÁRODNÍ TECHNICKÉ MUZEUM)
For all enthusiasts of mechanics, technology and technology, this is the best thing that can be done in Central Europe.
Not far from the park, the National Technical Museum occupies two twin buildings in a functionalist style. Completely refurbished, it presents the entire history of technical developments in fields as diverse as aviation, astronomy, metallurgy and design and espionage. An exciting visit that can quickly keep you busy for a whole day. The gallery of vehicles (motorcycles, bicycles, cars and planes) presents a unique collection of the best that Czech industry has been able to do between the two world wars, mainly, but also during the communist period and since the fall of the wall. Fans of beautiful or rare mechanics will be delighted to stroll among models rarely exhibited in France. The different rooms along the route then review different themes where you may or may not linger depending on your interests: cinema, astronomy, photography, computer science... each time with surprising objects, sometimes little known in Western Europe, and detailed explanations serving a particularly well worked scenography. On the top floor, an interactive exhibition recounts inventions related to espionage. In particular, you can have fun deciphering secret codes using several different techniques. Finally, in the basement, a 600 m long mine has been restored with old machines for digging and shoring tunnels.
