HOTEL FARO ARENAL
A family-run establishment with an authentic welcome, equipped with bungalows with all the necessary comforts to spend a dream night.
This beautiful establishment is run by Yorleni and her husband Javier. Unconditional lovers of their nature, they welcome you with a smile! If the attention is special, the services offered are not left behind. The owners have renovated everything in early 2019, a boost that gives the place charm and allure. The comfortable and suitably equipped bungalows overlook trails and the surrounding jungle. The pool is very pleasant. Love the adorable and engaging owners!

The restaurant served breakfast; I liked that they had a few options but you weren't overloaded with choices. The food was good, and I enjoyed the covered patio. It didn't affect us, but the restaurant wasn't open for dinner time.
There were so many different birds there: pavas, hummingbirds, summer tanagers, and many I wasn't able to identify. There were also a couple of sloths, toucans, and some cool bees and moths! It looks like they take care to create habitat for the animals.
A downside to the area was the abundance of mosquitoes, which were so quiet you didn't notice them until you're covered in bites. I learned last week that Canadian Blood Services has declared this area of the country to have a malaria risk, so I am unable to donate blood until 3 months after my return date.
Finally, I was unhappy with the bed. Mine was very hard and the room smelled like it had been fumigated that very day. Perhaps it is because I have a stronger sense of smell than my family, but I was the only one to find it a problem. I appreciate that there was a queen, twin, and bunk bed option in the room. There were 4 of us and it gave the kids options.
