This establishment on Akti Tombazi, next to the former Grand Arsenal, is easily spotted by its wooden tables, spread out along the flagstone path that runs alongside the sea to the Koum Kapi district. With its motto "the history of a place is learned around a table", Chalkina offers traditional Cretan cuisine (meat pie, snails, chevron with lemon sauce, coq au vin, etc.). The restaurant is also renowned for the variety of meats on offer: organic black pork, black angus, dry-aged beef.

Βρεθηκαμε στα χάλκινα απο σύσταση γνωστών και πραγματικα ηταν μια αξεχαστη εμπειρία. Εξαιρετικό φαγητό και σέρβις. Η θεα ετσι κι αλλιώς ανεπανάληπτη. Θα ήταν αστοχία να παραλειφθει.

Παραδοσιακά δίπλα στο παλιό λιμάνι. Ευγενικό προσωπικό. Άρτια εξυπηρέτηση. Νόστιμο φαγητό. Λίγο τσιμπημένο στη τιμή αλλά λογικό λόγο τοποθεσίας. Στα συν τα κρητικά κεράσματα. Στα αρνητικά τη μέρα που το επισκεφτήκαμε δεν διέθετε αντικριστό .!

Lovely Cretan restaurant with an interesting set of dishes on the menu. The live music was great and created a very authentic atmosphere. Staff were friendly and helpful and the food didn’t take too long to arrive - and was delicious

Φανταστικό μαγαζί με υπέροχα πιάτα που συνδυάζουν την υψηλή γαστρονομία με την κρητική παράδοση..το κόστος περίπου 25 ευρώ το άτομο αλλά άξιζε και με το παραπάνω!!!!!
