Historical Archives of Crete where you can learn about the history and people of the island.

The Historical Archives of Crete were founded in 1920. It is the best address on the whole island if you are looking for information on the history of Crete and its inhabitants, as you will have access, whether you are a visitor or a researcher, to a very valuable amount of documents, including many photographs. They are the richest in Greece, after the General Archives of the State. Of course everything, or almost everything, is in the Greek language.
