PUBLIC GARDEN - ZOO

Public garden with several hundred-year-old trees and a small zoo.
In 1870, Hania's pasha, Reouf, decided to endow the city with a public garden in order to give it a cosmopolitan air according to the Western model. Thus, several evergreen trees were planted there and this garden still retains its charm today. In 1924 work began on the construction of the City Clock, which lasted until 1927. It is a pleasant place for a break during the day, in the shade of the century-old trees, while stopping at the café for a drink. There is also a small zoo in the garden.
