WAR CEMETERY
Cemetery of the Commonwealth soldiers who died in the Second World War in Souda.
A perfectly maintained military cemetery, in the bay of Souda, in a bucolic and quiet setting, whose rare serenity is conducive to historical recollection or a stroll in the late afternoon. The cemetery is the work of the architect Louis de Soissons. The graves of the Commonwealth soldiers who died in the Second World War in Crete are all largely decorated with flowers. Unfortunately, almost half of these soldiers could not be identified. You will find information about the battles fought in Crete during this period.
