Historical and folklore museum exhibiting objects and documents from the Cretan revolutionary period.
The museum, housed in the house occupied by the future Greek Prime Minister, Eleftherios Venizelos and the Cretan revolutionaries of 1905, displays a series of objects and documents relating to this period. Not far away is the Museum of the Resistance under Nazi Occupation. Venizelos became famous for his opposition to Prince George on the issue of the Enossis, the union of Crete with Greece. He was a fervent architect of the modernization of the Greek state.
