ORTHODOX ACADEMY OF CRETE
Important institution of the Greek Orthodox Church with museum, botanical garden and library.
It is an important institution of the Greek Orthodox Church where many colloquia and seminars related to the Church are held. The place also has a library created in 1965 under the aegis of the Patriarch of Constantinople, accommodation for researchers, a museum on the flora of Crete, and a botanical garden open to the public. The Museum of Flora includes 6,000 Cretan species donated in 2003 by the French professor of botany Jacques Zaffran.
