Owner's Message
Inverdoorn Game Reserve & Iziba Safari Lodge is a wilderness reserve located in the heart of the Western Cape's semi-desert region, just 2 hours 50 minutes from the center of Cape Town. The sumptuousness of this area, bordered by elegant mountains, is home to an exceptional variety of wild animals, the widest in the region. Each day offers its own spectacle and surprise, all in a peaceful atmosphere accompanied by idyllic accommodation and fine, refined cuisine.
Hectares of splendour rich in life
The Inverdoorn Game Reserve & Iziba Safari Lodge lies in the middle of the Little Karoo Desert, cradled by colorful hills, and covers 10,000 hectares, making it the largest in the region. What's more, no fewer than 1,200 wild animals live here freely, enjoying the harmony of a natural balance that Inverdoorn is committed to preserving.
BIG 5 Safari
The expression "Big Five" refers to the five animals most historically prized by trophy hunters: lion, rhinoceros, buffalo, leopard and elephant. Today, South Africa pays tribute to them by making them emblems of its history and culture, and Inverdoorn allows them to roam the soil of their ancestors in complete freedom. These animals reign supreme, giving Nature back its original face. Seeing these five great animals together in this immense space is a breathtaking spectacle.
A boundless ambition: restore Nature's rights
Inverdoorn Game Reserve & Iziba Safari Lodge acts for a cause that is very dear to its heart and that it wants to share with the world. Faced with the threat of extinction hanging over some of its animals, the wilderness reserve has decided to innovate and set up exceptional conservation programs to safeguard the cheetahs and rhinos of South Africa and Africa as a whole.
- CapeCheetah is a breeding, rehabilitation and conservation program for cheetahs. Inverdoorn Game Reserve & Iziba Safari Lodge is proud to be the haven of thirteen cheetahs, the latest of which is the reserve's pride and joy: Iziba, a little orphan rescued by CapeCheetah.
- RhinoProtect is a program dedicated to the protection and survival of rhinos threatened by poaching for their horns. RhinoProtect counteracts this scourge by proposing alternative solutions, such as poisoning rhino horns so that they lose all market value, communicating extensively and, of course, keeping a watchful eye on them 24/7.
The promise of a life-affirming wildlife experience!
The largest wilderness reserve in the Western Cape region offers unforgettable moments for the mind and heart, just 2 hours 50 minutes from the center of Cape Town and in luxurious accommodation. Come and experience this adventure!
Le pire des parcs ! !!
