EUROPARKING
All-white parking lot designed by Dutch architect Piet Zanstra, a true work of art in Amsterdam
From ugliness to beauty. For a long time, this parking lot in the Jordaan district was considered the ugliest building in the city. This is no longer the case. This all-white parking lot is an emblematic silhouette of the capital, a sort of Amsterdam Guggenheim. Designed by Dutch architect Piet Zanstra, it was inaugurated in 1972. Spencer Tunick photographed 2,000 naked people there. During Pride (in August), its white stripes are transformed into a rainbow. This building has become iconic almost in spite of itself!
