The name of this restaurant, as Velhas, "the old women" in Portuguese, is a tribute to the two women who used to cook here. The restaurant has been open since 1925! On the walls, paintings and statues of other elderly people (famous or not). Under the auspices of the yellow-beamed ceiling, there's no doubt that the dishes here are prepared with care: cataplana de peixe, bacalhau no forno à minhota and rojões à transmontana and then a few gourmet notes to end on a high note. A must for all gourmets.

Accueil chaleureux et personnel aux petits soins. Très bonne cuisine

Repas savoureux mais trop cher. Service très très long. Personnel agréable. La cuisine n’est pas typique : il n’y a pas de beignets de morue, de spécialités locales.
