Amidst hanging hams and wooden clocks from another era, a tasca worthy of the name has endured since 1930. On Mondays, Doña Judite cooks chicken cabidela, on Tuesdays veal chanfana, on Wednesdays roast chicken, on Thursdays octopus a lagareiro and on Fridays cod with chickpeas. Saturdays depend on her mood, and Sundays she closes. Sometimes she alternates days and dishes. At €4.75 a dose, this modest restaurant is a miracle, just a stone's throw from the city's biggest tourist attraction.
