A MERENDEIRA
An institution opened in 1936, it can be eaten at any time of the day or night. In this large refectory with arcades and tables, benches and wooden stools, there are couples of retired people, tourists or partygoers attracted by the smell of chorizo bread coming out of the oven. All the best values to recover your strength or to waterproof: caldo verde (green cabbage soup), pão com chouriço (chorizo bread), pastéis de bacalhau (cod fritters) and arroz doce (rice pudding)... As often happiness can be summed up in simple things!
