Tantura, named after an ancient Palestinian fishing village, is located in a small street in Bairro Alto. A little removed from the hustle and bustle of the district, this restaurant is nonetheless very popular. Owners Elad and Itamar offer Mediterranean and Middle Eastern cuisine, with classics such as falafel, shakshuka and hummus. For dessert, we recommend the malabi (milk flan scented with orange blossom). Reservations recommended. On weekends, brunch is served from 12 noon to 3:30 pm.
