Bastante barulhento a noite.
I think the rooms are really lacking, with all the bottom bunks featured bowed curtains which lets in a lot of light, especially when someone turns on the light late at night. The bathrooms are always being fixed, it’s like the toilets are cursed.
The fact the coworking space is paid is a big detractor, though iI don’t think you’ll find less than €10 a day around the city (which is probably why it’s priced this way). Selina can excuse this all they want but it’s stupid. They also post signs everywhere you cannot cowork anywhere else. However, the outside area (if not super cold) is a great aesthetic if you can find a table with an outlet. Truly a pleasure to work amongst birds, and that’s not to be written off.
Rooftop terrace was closed.
Bar was pretty nice. The bartender there had an art to her craft and made a fantastic cocktail, and even let me use my free drink past after the time you could (I work during that time). Food is skippable; with so many restaurants around go out and venture and you’ll find something. Be careful of tourist trips, though.
Good: Deluxe room is big and looks nice, bed is comfy, property is big and nice vibes (many plants), friendly staff, good location in the hipster district (and not too touristy!), nice breakfast
Bad: you might hear dogs and drunk people at night (but not sure if also applicable to other hotels in the area), Selina properties are not working very professional even tough google maps indicates this is a 4 star hotel (applies to most Selina’s, not only this one, in this case I had to wait 30 min after checkout to receive my bill which I need for my employer). the price/value is probably not as good as other hotels in Lisbon.
However, I would come again
The room was clean.
Breakfast menu and dishes were good and the place to have a drink is nice too.
- The walls are paper thin and you can hear everything.
- They advertise a sink in the room, this is not the case.
- They advertise that each bathroom for the micro rooms is shared between 3/4 rooms, this is also not the case. Everyone (including people staying in dorms and people using the restaurant/bar) have free access to all bathrooms.
- They advertise a free room upgrade if you book direct and there is availability. When we stayed there was availability and we were denied this. In fact, when we first enquired the staff said yes we could upgrade and went to check a price. When we queried about the free upgrade, she knew nothing about it and when her manager checked there was suddenly no availability despite rooms being available to book online.
- Housekeeping is not good, rooms were not cleaned properly and on two occasions our towels were taken but not replaced. It took reception an hour to replace them.
- The rooftop bar was not open due to the time of year but the actual terrace is meant to be open (as per advertisements around the building) but when we tried on two occasions this was not the case.
- On the plus side, the location is quite good.
what I have to say is that there is no common room like one you might know from others hostels. and I felt like it’s very very hard to meet people here especially because there is no cozy room to sit around and hang out.. and it is really noisy. maybe try turning the music down at least when it’s getting later.
but everything is clean and cleaned several times a day, staff was helpful and the beds are comfy:)
