Hotel with terrace that offers rooms decorated with African and contemporary art.
In a paved street near the castle, this small palace with its orange facade contains a dozen rooms, decorated with African and contemporary works of art selected by the former owner, the Portuguese painter Luís Lemos. Part of the hotel was previously used as a workshop. Each room has a small library of antique books. Some are duplex, with television and stereo. The marble bathrooms are sumptuous and the terrace where you can have breakfast is a real plus.

One of the best views we've had from a hotel room, and we always pick rooms with a view! We had the terrace with city and river view and it was spectacular day and night! The room was large and had a wall of windows to enjoy Lisbon's amazing skyline. The front desk was wonderful - helpful and friendly, and they went out of their way to make us feel welcome. They even had breakfast ready for us early on our last day since we had an early flight. The hotel has no elevator, and our room was at the top, but I'm in my 60's and it was no huge deal, and the hotel staff carried our luggage up to the room. The location is perfect in the picturesque Alfama district, very close to St. George's Castle and within walking distance of so many great sites. We will stay here again, in the same room if we come back to Lisbon.

Our experience at Solar dos Mouros was incredible. Right from the start Francois and Rio went the extra mile to ensure we were comfortable and that we had everything we needed for our stay. The room was large, clean, and had an incredible view. The fresh fruit and complementary port was a very nice touch. Being steps away from Castelo de Sao Jorge and Alfama was great and we felt like we were close to everything. Thanks for the great experience.

The room was so spacious, with amazing views, fresh fruit, water, coffee maker, and port.
All the staff are amazing and so welcoming.
The monday evening 4 course dinner with entertainment (live instrumental & singer) you couldn't fault..
It is very easy to get around on foot, tram, tain, or Uber to cover all your site seeing needs. In 4 days, we managed to go as far as Cascais and all the way over to Sintra to visit the Palace.
Thanks again for having us.
