HOTEL 3K BARCELONA * * * *
Situated in a quiet street, in a well-served area by public transport, not far from the metro and the train station serving the zone "Oriente" or "Parque das Nações", this is a modern hotel with 120 rooms and 5 comfortable suites, including 2 with panoramic terrace and 2 families, with free internet access - Wi-Fi, TV-LCD, telephone, mini bar, hair dryer and safe. Two rooms are suitable for disabled people and 4 rooms can communicate with each other. The intimate decoration of the rooms contrasts with the modernity of the building because the main concern here is comfort. If the hotel is outside of the historic center, it enjoys the pleasant environment of a more modern central district, between the Campo Pequeno Arena Square and its shopping center and restaurants with terrace and the Gulbenkian Museum with its park, an oasis of greenery. Good location and comfortable location!

Here is a list of things that went wrong/ that we didn’t like at Hotel 3k:
- we interacted with about 12 staff during our two day stay, with the exception of one younger man, every reception staff we met was rude, did not say hi when we walked in and never smiled once.
- there’s no coffee machine in the room
- they charge for the water bottles they give you (except the first night)
- the hotel is in a flight path and the walls don’t block the noise of the planes
- the lobby is drab and a little depressing, there is a sad and eerie energy, think the Shining
- the bar closes at 11:30pm…
- if you’re sharing the room, and one of you leaves with the room card, all the lights turn off. There is no power in the room if you don’t leave your key card in the designated slot by the door (rectified by having to ask for a second card)
- when the floor above flushes their toilet, it sounds like you’re getting splashed with gallons of water. It’s loud and disruptive at night (rectify if you close the bathroom door. )
- there is only one power outlet between two beds no separate night stand. Made for tricky charging of electronics.
- the breakfast buffet is 2EUR more expensive than neighbouring similar hotels and lacks their variety
- finally, it’s worth mentioning again that the customer service really was shocking here. In contrast to the excellent service in cafes, hotels, restaurants, grocery stores, here, where we ended our trip, left a bad taste in our mouths.
Don’t go. Try somewhere else.
