HÔTEL BRITÂNIA ART DECO * * * *
Beautiful, sober and original hotel evoking a pre-war liner with its portholes and offering modern comfort.
Behind a discreet, unmarked façade lies a small Art Deco marvel, designed by Portuguese modernist architect Cassiano Branco in 1944. The hotel has preserved its 1940s charm while offering modern amenities. The hotel's 33 rooms are spacious, each with a marble bathroom (with Molton Brown hospitality products) and original cork floors. Buffet breakfast until noon. A bottle of old port awaits you on the coffee table as a traditional welcome.

Lots of restoration work to the fabric of the building especially the tiled floors in the bedrooms made from cork.
Special mention to the staff who made the place feel like home.
