Opened in 2014, the Memmo Alfama is a superb boutique hotel tucked away in a small alleyway in the picturesque Alfama district. The ambience is cosy and the decor designer, but not overly so. The rooms, which feature wood, are comfortable, but those in the standard category are a little small. But no matter! The terrace with view and swimming pool is so sublime that you'll spend most of your time outside! The good news is that even if you're not a hotel guest, you can still enjoy the bar terrace.

The room was very comfortable, breakfast was delicious and we enjoyed drinks and tapas on the terrace. The added touches like the wellness tip book and sketchpad and pencil to inspire you while on your stay were such a nice touch. It's a gem!
Terrace room had a nice little window view, which was worth waking up to, even if room was a bit smaller. We were mostly adventuring and the hotel is so nice to spend time in (terrace!!) so worth the trade-off.
